Ever since airport security put a hairline scratch on the underside of my baby, I have searched frantically for a case that would A) Preserve the look of my laptop, B) Keep it comfortable to have it on my lap, C) Allow it to still fit inside my neoprene sleeve or messenger bag, D) Leave all my ports fully-functional, and E) Protect it from those elements who wish it harm. This impressive laundry list is checked off entirely by the Speck clear case!It didn't add any perceptible bulk, it left my computer looking as much like a bare Macbook as any case can, protects it adequately from anything other than a steep fall, and leaves even my Magsafe power port fully functional (the plug can be oriented either way while in the case! Yay!). It does stick to one's thighs slightly after a while, but so does the Mac itself (and it becomes too toasty on the bottom to sit on a lap for a while anyway). The case left my hinge action alone, to my delight. Also, it still (miraculously) fits in my tight neoprene sleeve, in part due to being quite a slippery surface. Never again shall the TSA cause harm!.. well, to my computer, anyway. Highly recommend.

I wanted to keep my brand new 17" MacBook clean, safe and unscratched. The options for 15" models are far greater, and I had considered "skins" which offered protection of the top or the bottom. This product supplies protection for both, allowing full functionality and access to all of the ports and drives, revealing the great look of the classic design. It has a nice feel, is very sturdy, comes off easily but stays put as needed. The computer still fits in its sleeve with the case on. It was exactly the solution I sought for this device and I'm very pleased with it.

I got this for the Apple 17" macpro laptop. It basically just snaps into place. There is an issue on the lower piece where the openings for all of the USB, power connections, etc are. This area of the case doesn't even try to do all of the cutouts and instead the whole area is cut out. The issue is it makes the corner somewhat flimsy and the tab that hold that corner to the computer does not hold on to the computer. Everything else seems to fit well. The only other issue is the case is bulky and heavy. The case seems to protect well against scratches but it is yet to be seen whether it would protect the computer in the event it was dropped.
